Dudley joins Bergevin in Montreal
Former Blackhawks Assistant GM Rick Dudley has agreed to join the Montreal Canadiens as their Assistant GM. Most recently, Dudley was the Director of Player Personnel for the Toronto Maple Leafs. In joining the Canadiens, he will work along side current Habs GM Marc Bergevin, who served as the Hawks Assistant GM last season. Dudley left... Read more »
Despite Carcillo's spotlight, Brunette key to Blackhawks' success
Monday, the Blackhawks introduced two of their key offseason additions, Dan Carcillo and Andrew Brunette, to the media. While Carcillo got most of the attention of the beat writers, bloggers, and talk show hosts in Chicago, Brunette will likely be the most important, and arguably the most valuable addition to the Blackhawks’ roster this season... Blackhawks Offseason Mailbag Vol. 1
With things a little slow in Blackhawks land right now, I thought I’d take some time and answer a few email / facebook questions. I’ll try to do a few of these before the season begins, and one every month during the season. If you’d like to submit a question for the next edition, send... Read more »

Hockey is here again! A Blackhawks training camp preview
Can you believe it’s hockey season again? The Blackhawks hosted their training camp festival this weekend, including a practice in front of a STANDING ROOM ONLY crowd. Yes…a standing room only practice. Tonight, the Blackhawks begin their preseason in Winnepeg vs the Tampa Bay Lightning. Typically, elite NHL teams don’t worry too much about preseason hockey... Hawks deal Byfuglien, Eager, and Sopel to Atlanta
It’s a day we all knew was coming. The Hawks are in cap hell, and people had to go. Well, the first chips have fallen today. The Blackhawks have dealt Dustin Byfuglein, Ben Eager, Brent Sopel and Akim Aliu to Atlanta in exchange for the 24th overall pick at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the... Read more »
Remember When, Hawk fans?
I never thought I’d be at such a loss for words in my life. You’d think for a lifelong Blackhawk fan, writing a blog after they win the Stanley Cup would be easy. It’s not. As I found myself thinking about what to write, and what to say, my mind kept scanning the last decade... Read more »

How the "1" will be won
The Blackhawks have won 67 games this season. 52 in the regular season, 15 in the playoffs, but none of them matter except #68. Unless you’ve been living in a cave the last few days, the Hawks are one win away from clinching their first Stanley Cup since 1961. Hopefully by the end of the... Read more »
Even at their worst, Hawks too much for Flyers
Antti Niemi was bad. Patrick Kane was invisible (unless he was taking a penalty). The top line was a combined -9, but the Hawks still pulled it out. They were still too much for the overmatched, though pesky, Flyers. How can you feel good if you’re a Flyers fan? Yes, you scored 5 goals... Read more »
Once again, Hawks outclass brainless Canucks
Before I sat down to host my hockey postgame show on the Score last night, I wrote down three words: Discipline, Coaching, and Character. These three things have been the key to the Blackhawks 3-1 series lead over the Vancouver Canucks. While rampant douchebaggary can be expected from guys like Alexander Burrows, Shane O’Brien, and... Plenty of blame to go around, but not for Niemi
Once again, the Hawks decided to come out flat in game one of a playoff series, and once again they lost. Actually, they didn’t just lose. They embarrassed themselves. The supposedly solid defense looked lost in their own zone. Dustin Byfuglien was a non factor in front of Robert Luongo, and the “bad blood” must... Read more »
