Blackhawks sign defenseman Michal Rozsival

Tuesday, the Blackhawks announced they've signed free agent defenseman Michal Rozsival to a one year, $2 million deal.

Rozsival, 34, recorded 13 points and a +8 rating in 54 regular season games with the Phoenix Coyotes last season.

In Rozsival, the Blackhawks get a legit top 4 defenseman with some size (6-2 210 lbs) who can move the puck.  A veteran of 756 career games, he brings a wealth of experience to the Hawks d-corps.

Getting Rozsival for $2 million is a great bargain on it own.  Add the fact that the Red Wings were in the market for a defenseman, and it's a huge win for the Blackhawks.

This is no minor signing.  Rozsival will be a major contributor to the Hawks' blue line, assuming there's a season to be played.
