Today at 10am CT, Blackhawks Regular Season tickets go on sale. While every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be lined up to buy tickets to games against the Red Wings, Canucks, Rangers, and Bruins, here are a few alternatives that you'll be happy you bought while the others struck out while in the online queue.
Sunday, November 11th vs Edmonton : The Oilers are one of the fastest, youngest and most exciting teams in hockey. Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Jordan Eberle could be the top line combination, which is the most exciting young line since Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews teamed up. If Edmonton's number one overall pick, Nail Yakupov, impresses in camp, it will be Hawk fans' first chance to watch the future superstar.
Friday, December 28th vs Carolina : This offseason, the Hurricanes added Jordan Staal, who will likely play beside his brother, and Hurricanes' captain, Eric. Washington's Alex Semin signed late in the summer as well. Add those vets to a nice mix of youngsters, including Jeff Skinner, and they could have a pretty exciting team.
Thursday, January 10th vs Dallas : The Stars are a competitive team who play hard and physical. Jamie Benn is one of the most underrated players in the league. Dallas also signed Jaromir Jagr this offseason.
Friday, March 1st vs Minnesota : The Hawks get their first chance to play against the new look, new feel, and newly relevant Minnesota Wild, who were the big winners in free agency. They added defenseman Ryan Suter and winger Zach Parise...both of which the Hawks were rumored to be after.
Friday, March 29th vs Tampa Bay : For the love of God, go watch Steven Stamkos. He scored 60 goals last season. If that's not enough, exciting vets like Vincent LeCavalier and Martin St. Louis are still playing the game at a high level. Tampa Bay is one of the teams I try to catch every time they come to the United Center.
Good luck and keep refreshing!
