Crawford named NHL's "Second Star" of the week

How insane has the Blackhawks' goalie situation been this season?

First, Corey Crawford started hot...then went to hell around Christmas.  Ray Emery carried the club during that particular struggle.

Then Ray Emery faltered, and Corey Crawford came back...well...OK.

The Crawford started to struggle again.  Badly.  Emery came in and saved the day.

Then, last week, Emery was bad and out of the lineup.  Crawford to the rescue.

Today, the NHL announced that Crawford was named their Second Star of the Week.

Crawford posted a 3-0-0 record in wins over St. Louis, Dallas, and Washington.  He also recorded a 1.09 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.

Crawford, and the Hawks, are getting hot at the right time.  Hopefully, they can stay hot until, and through, the playoffs.

The Flyers' Ilya Bryzgalov took home First Star of the Week honors.  He went 3-0-1 with a 1.44 goals against and a .950 save percentage.

The Third Star went to Nashville's Martin Erat.  who logged 7 points in 4 games.
