Bodog.com has released their annual player prop bets for the 2011-12 NHL season. Let's take a look at some of the favorites, and where a few Blackhawks are on the list.
The favorite to win the Norris Trophy, for the NHL's best defenseman, is Shea Weber at 4/1. Zdeno Chara is second at 9/2, while Nik Lidstrom is third at 13/2. Duncan Keith is tied with Drew Doughty at 5th, at 10/1 odds. No other Hawk is on the list.
As for the Vezina (NHL's best goalie), Ryan Miller and Tim Thomas top the list, at 5/1 and 7/1 respectively. Corey Crawford comes in at 14th, at 40/1.
The favorites for the Ross Trophy (league's leading scorer) are Alex Ovechkin and Steve Stamkos. Both are listed at 7/2. Jonathan Toews comes in at 35/1, while Patrick Kane comes in at 40/1.
Stamkos is the favorite for the Richard Trophy (most goals) at 7/2. Jonathan Toews comes in tied for 9th at 25/1. Kane and Patrick Sharp are not on the list.
As for the Hart Trophy for league MVP, Ovechkin is the 4/1 favorite. Stamkos comes in second at 11/2. Toews comes in at 6th with 18/1 odds.
If I'm a betting man, I think Toews for Hart or Crawford for Vezina are value bets. Toews was a strong candiate for the Hart for much of last season. Crawford is a tougher win, but with 40/1 odds, it might be worth dropping a few bucks on.
