Blackhawks Acquire David Toews

Friday, the Blackhawks pulled of a deal with the New York Islanders for David Toews, the younger brother of Hawks' captain Johathan.  He will play for the Hawks in this weekend's rookie tournament in Toronto.

In 60 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League, Toews tallied 20 goals and 28 assists, and recorded 7 points in 6 playoff games with Brandon.

The Islanders acquired Blackhawk prospect "F. Considerations" in the deal.  It's unknown what kind of future F. Considerations has in the league, but at this point, it looks like the Hawks won the deal, as they acquired a real, existing, human being.   Jokes aside, David Toews is no where near the prospect Jonathan is, but he does project as an NHL player at some point.

  • Apparently F. Considerations is related to Cubs prospect A. [for additional] Cash. Never played like Norm Cash.

I guess you point out that he isn't the immediate second Toews, just a future Ice Hog.
