Blackhawks Trade Brouwer to Caps for 1st Round Pick

Friday night, the Blackhawks traded winger Troy Brouwer to the Washington Capitals for the 26th overall pick.

Brouwer is a restricted free agent, and is due a raise.  His name has been in trade rumors most of the offseason.

Earlier in the day, rumors swirled that Brian Campbell had been traded
to Columbus.  The deal, for whatever reason, fell through.  Some
speculate Campbell was unwilling to waive his no trade clause, while
other sources denied that report.  Regardless, the deal appears dead for
now.  It's safe to assume the Hawks will continue seeking a trade
partner for Campbell, and his $7.1 million dollar salary.
