Early this morning, TSN's lead reporter Bob McKenzie tweeted the following : CHI and defenceman Brent Seabrook on verge of finalizing big contract extension, hearing 5 years at a shade under $30M.
Newer rumors have the annual number closer to $5.5 million, rather than $6 million. Before you panic, the Hawks are in better cap space than many believe. With Seabrook signed, even at $6 million, the Hawks have close to $4 million dollars to fill 4 roster spots for next season.
