UPDATE 9:36am CT - While all the Hawks talk is about a goalie, they may make deals at other positions. The stockpiling of depth defensemen like Jassen Cullimore and Nick Boynton could signal the Hawks building a package for a big trade. Then again...maybe not. The Tampa Bay Lightning are rumored to REALLY LIKE Kris Versteeg. A deal for a guy like Alex Tanguay, who talent wise is equal to Versteeg, but has an expiring contact could be the KIND of deal the Hawks look to make today.

UPDATE : 9:15am CT - Rumors are swirling that Philly is pushing hard for Vokoun, but Florida wants Jeff Carter in return. I doubt the Flyers bite at that. I wouldn't.
UPDATE : 8:37am CT - Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet in Canada reports: "Tomas Vokoun has
told Randy Sexton he will lift his no trade to a small list of
contending teams only. Add him to a growing goalie list." Vokoun is assumed to be the Blackhawks top target.
Good morning everyone! Happy trade deadline day. Here's how this little thing is going to work today.

Things are off to a slow start, as usual, this morning. Things get going typically around 10 or 11am. In the meantime, check out this interview the Fan 590 in Toronto did with Hawks advisor Scotty Bowman this morning. He vehemently denies ANY Hawks interest in a goaltender, and talks about the team.

Thanks for the updates Jay - keep em coming! I'm definitely ok with getting rid of Versteeg. He has great potential (and had a kick-ass rookie season) but hasn't done much this year except skate toward the blue line when he has the puck in the Hawk's offensive zone. Let's Go Hawks!!
