It seems the republicans have been touting they are doing the will of the American people by shutting down the government and forcing the democrats to defund the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare to the idiot republicans/tea party republicans in Congress).
Now I don't know about your feelings as my readers, but I know that Boehner, McConnell, Cruz, and Neugebauer do not speak for me. A few days ago Bonehead went on the air stating he was speaking for Americans. I am sorry but when did I give up my first amendment rights to the Speaker if the House? Mr. Bonehead, I did not give you the right to say on my behalf that I am against the Affordable Care Act. If you bothered to get to know me, or even read what I've posted in the past 3 years, you would know I am completely for the ACA.
As a potential candidate for Breast Cancer, I am one of those people that needs health insurance but could be denied individual insurance since I have already been tested and found to match one of my aunts. Since the ACA states that insurance companies cannot deny or cancel coverage for me, I can now go out into the "insurance market" and see what is affordable for me and have insurance as of January 1, 2014
How many Americans out there are living daily without insurance? I surely cannot be the only one, so why can't we find affordable insurance? Oh right, the insurance companies are out to make money. Why are the republicans and the tea party so against the ACA? My feeling is they are worried about 2014. Why 2014? Many of them are up for re-election and need the campaign funds they get from big insurance companies. Why the ACA? They already have the POTUS the go ahead for Syria so they have no other bargaining chips left but the ACA.
I feel the republicans/tea party are banking on the ACA after distributing those disturbing ads about government being your doctor. I'm sorry but that is utterly and completely wrong. The government is not telling you who you see, they are telling insurance companies what they can and can't do. They are telling corporations that they need to start covering sick days and providing healthcare to individuals that work full-time. They are giving individuals like myself the opportunity to see what insurance coverage is out there and what it costs.
If you look at it, this is the same fight they had over the voucher system with education, now we have a voucher system for insurance. Same story, just slightly changed for the current times.
What I would like to say to the republicans/tea party member of Congress is GROW UP. Stop acting like the bullies on the playground and man up to the issues at hand. Sooner or later the rest of the class will realize you are such a small group that they can and will drown you out. Now can you pay the bills and get back to work? That is the will of the American people.
