UN Disabilities Treaty, The ADA and Republican Senators, what do they have in common?

I am watching The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell and I am suddenly saddened by the republicans in the Senate. "They have dishonored us and the United States."

Why do you ask did Lawrence say this? Well, on the Senate floor was a ratification to the UN Disabilities Treaty. Simple enough, yes or no, depending on the subject.

Well, today they were voting on the treaty with one simple thing that would not effect the USA's laws, or bind us to any other countries laws. All this thing did was make it unlawful for any one in any country to discriminate handicapped people of any race or nation. 156 nations have already enacted this treaty, 126 ratified this treaty!

You guessed it, our Senate failed to pass the Treaty!

22 years ago the Senate passed the Americans with Disabilities Acts, how the hell do you not pass this? This is ridiculous!!!

I beg of you dear Senators, GET YOUR FUCKING HEADS OUT OF YOUR FUCKING ASSES AND DO SOMETHING THAT IS RIGHT!!!

Why do you vote against something that is already a law in the United States? Do you think it is right for India were to send all their paralyzed people to any island? I would certainly hope not! Now I am not saying that India does this, it is just a mere example of another country that would be doing something that we find is illegal in our country.

Congress just simply had to pass this treaty and just simply agree with the other countries that have signed the very same thing. Why is the United States always behind with something?

The few readers that I have, if you have a republican Senator, please call them and ask why they did not pass this treaty and plead to them that they need to pass it the next time it hits the floor. Why should we be a country that does have a law making it illegal but we will not agree that it is wrong for other countries?

WOW! Just WOW!

PS: I have a friend that is a paraplegic due to injuries sustained during a robbery. This saddens me Senators, just saddens me!
