Special Chicago Doctors, Generous Families, and a Special Holiday Event

I have been fortunate to have built relationships with some very good doctors at some of Chicago's eminent Hospitals.  Some were clients and some were folks I was fortunate to meet and become acquainted with outside of real estate.

A few to mention are Doctor Leventhal at Northwestern Memorial, Dr. David Deboer of Northern Illinois Cardiovascular and Thoracic Specialists, LLC and Doctor Jeffrey Ackman at Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago.  Another special Doctor is Dr. Deboer's father who worked at Northwestern and took care of my father years ago.

Dr. Ackman has devoted his career to helping children who often would have no other hope were it not for the donations that keep Shriners going.  His skills as a physician and his record at Shriners led him to recently be named as Chief of Staff, so join me in congratulating him!

Speaking of Doctors, the January issue of Chicago Magazine has a great article on the Top Doctors for Women in Chicago and the suburbs.  As Dr. Teresa Woodruff, the Director of Women's Health Research at Northwestern's Feinberg School says, "Chicago is really the epicenter of the new wave of women's health research."

The article goes on to list the top Doctors in a variety of important areas, including Heart Disease, Fertility, Cancer, and many others.  It is a must read and something to clip and save!

Looking at the Feinberg School and the Feinberg family who helped Northwestern so generously, it is a great reminder that we in Chicago are blessed to have numerous wonderful and caring families that have been so generous in donating and contributing to worthy causes in Chicago.  Besides the Feinberg family there are a few others that I have had the good fortune to come in contact with, be it socially or professionally.  These include the Luries, the Copleys, the Bluhms, and the Komens with the wonderful Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation that I will forever be thankful for.

Finally, please consider attending an exciting program at the Auditorium Theater on January 15th and 16th, called "Too Hot to Handel:  The Jazz-Gospel Messiah"!  There will be over 200 musicians, several amazing soloists, and a rockin' Choir to back it all up!  Just go to http://auditoriumtheatre.org/wb/ to learn more about this celebratory event.

Well, Chicago Real Estate is really starting to move, so look for more updates in the next couple of weeks.  For now, stay safe out on those slick roads!
