As a high end broker I have seen many beautiful homes and many examples of great interior design over the years. But recently I was lucky to be invited to social events at two homes that are truly the nicest I have seen in the city. First off, here is a picture of me and a few friends at one of the events I attended.
One of the events was at 65 E. Goethe, the magnificent French-style building just West of inner Lake Shore Drive, next to one of the City's best designed playgrounds. The home was over 10,000 square feet, with exquisite design that echoed the lines of the building, which was designed by the renowned Lucien LaGrange. If you ever have a chance to visit this building you must visit the rooftop Parisian garden as well. Take a look!
A little to the west, over on Dearborn Street, is the second beautiful home I was able to visit recently. Again it was around 10,000 square feet, grandly situated on an oversize lot. The interior was worthy of the finest architectural magazines, with sumptuous design by the fine Chicago firm Soucie Horner, Ltd.
It is truly breathtaking to see what it looks like when classic structure and impeccable design come together!
As for the latest Real Estate update, the Chicago market is continuing to improve, and I am optimistic about the future. I recently sold a striking three bedroom condo at 850 W. Adams, and the number of interested parties that came through the unit spoke to the fact that buyers are recognizing that prices are as low as they are going to get and now is the time to get some real bargains.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!
