Mario's game for a new home

Mario's game for a new home
Mario is a healthy, FIV+ kitty looking for a new home.

One look at this cat and it’s hard to not fall in love. Of course, I’m a bit partial to big Maine Coon-type cats. However, Mario has some of the coolest markings and he apparently has the personality to match. Now, he’d love nothing more than to find a forever home during Adopt-a-Cat Month.

I’ve reached out this month to ask my friends to submit stories, blogs or cats in need of homes as we focus on Adopt-a-Cat Month. Mario arrived in my inbox. He’s in the care of Petraits and is believed to be around 7-years-old and 16 pounds of pure love.

Mario is out-going and is quite the court-jester in foster care. He gets along great with other cats but it’s not known how he does with dogs. Mario loves catnip, has great litter box habits and is a lover, not a fighter.

He is FIV+ but he’s healthy and should live a long life with good care. To meet and possibly adopt this adorable cat, please contact his foster mom Elaine at or 312-391-6357. He's being fostered in Pilsen.

June is Adopt-A-Cat month. I'm looking for good stories about cat adoption and possible guest bloggers. You may reach me at

    Raining Cats and Dogs

I am a crazy cat lady and puppy mill warrior that blogs to advocate and educate about pet issues. In American animal controls, millions of pets are abandoned each year and an estimated 4 million die just because there are not enough homes. It truly seems like it’s Raining Cats and Dogs.
