Sox needs to have his day in the sun...his happy ending...the dog's life he so richly deserved from the start. This beautiful dog is from Quincy and is only a few years old but those years have been hard years. Now, Sox is safe and Sox is learning new tricks. Now, he just wants to find a forever home.
When living in Quincy, Sox was picked up several times by animal control. He had a home. But Sox kept running away and each time he ended up in animal control they found new wounds. The last time there were burns on his muzzle that looked like chemical burns. Sox also had an aversion to walking on a leash. It was believed he'd been abused by his original family while leashed.
This is when life started to change for Sox. He wasn't returned to his family and a group - Homeward Bound Waggin Rescue stepped up to help. They connected him to Barriers Against Repeated Cruelty - B.A.R.C. - who worked on his manners and connected him with trainer Curtis Scott to help him get over his past issues.
Sox passed in flying colors as you can see by this video from Curtis Scott's Facebook page. (See video at bottom of page.)
Sox was on his way to rescue when his luck ran out again - that commitment fell through. He's been boarded thanks to a generous donation to Homeward Bound Waggin Rescue. Now, those funds are running out and Sox is about to lose his place in boarding. He needs either a rescue to take him in or a forever home to finally give him the happy ending he deserves. Sox is sweet and very loving especially considering what he's been through. He loves to run and play with other dogs but needs to be in a home without cats.
Sox also loves kids and running and just playing. This wonderful pit bull mix is around two and is a great way to break away from the winter blues now that spring has sprung.
