I have to admit that I’m madly in love with the latest fashion model trend at Bloomingdale’s in Chicago…Doggies and Denim. Yep, once again the dogs are hitting the catwalk at the Michigan Avenue store. The event next Thursday will feature Safe Humane Chicago dogs and volunteers from the organization.
Doggies and Denim features some of the great spring and summer denim fashion trends at Bloomies and 10 percent of the pre-tax portion of sales will be donated to Safe Humane Chicago. The pooches hit the runway from 6 to 8 at Y.E.S. Along with the cuddly canines, models include community leaders, high school leaders and partners and board members from Safe Humane.
“The first event, ‘Cashmere and Canines’ held last November, raised more than $2,000. in much needed funds,” said Safe Humane Chicago’s Executive Director and Founder, Cynthia Bathurst. “So, we’re thrilled and very grateful that Bloomingdale’s is hosting a spring event in support of the mission and efforts of Safe Humane Chicago.”
Safe Humane Chicago works throughout the Chicago area to create safer, more humane communities by inspiring positive relationships between people and animals. Some of the programs include youth leadership, collaboration with the criminal justice system and helping vulnerable dogs and youth in at-risk communities.
