Dogs hit the trail for Miles for the Mothers in the Mills
Head to Naperville's Riverwalk Sunday for Miles for the Mothers in the Mills.

It was a bit chilly on Sunday, but it didn't stop a lot of dog lovers from heading out to Highland Park for the Second Annual Miles for the Mothers in the Mills. Dogs of all shapes and sizes came out with their families to hit the trail and to help The Puppy Mill Project raise some dough for puppy mill awareness programs.

I met quite a few people I've just met virtually so far. And, along with the rescue dogs, service dogs and therapy dogs there were many puppy mill rescues (some are new fosters). There were dogs of all sizes and some in costume and some au natural.

The sponsors for Miles for the Mothers in the Mills included - North Shore Family PetStella and Chewy’sPet Supplies PlusMordini General Contracting and Home Remodeling, First Bank of Highland Park. With food donated by Egg Harbor Café in Lincolnshire, Max’s Deli in Highland Park, and Sunset FoodsROOT Dog Training in Highwood and Landini Entertainment also provided entertainment. See more in the video below.

    Raining Cats and Dogs

I am a crazy cat lady and puppy mill warrior that blogs to advocate and educate about pet issues. In American animal controls, millions of pets are abandoned each year and an estimated 4 million die just because there are not enough homes. It truly seems like it’s Raining Cats and Dogs.
