Chicago area pet events through October 13
The Chicago Premier of Lil Bub and Friendz is on Thursday.

There are lots of fun activities this week including the Chicago Premier of Lil Bub & Friendz, the launch party for Dames a Dozen’s calendar, an adoption event at Scarecrow Fest, the 5th Annual Scavenger Hunt and Martinis for Mutts. Check out the Chicago area pet events below.

Thursday, October 10

Chicago - The next few weeks are big weeks for cat lovers/film buffs in Chicago. First is the Chicago Premier of LIL BUB & FRIENDZ. This fun film explores the phenomenon of Internet cats and stars Lil Bub, Grumpy at, Nyan Cat, Keyboard Cat and many more. The premier is sponsored by Urban Outfitters and will be at Metro Chicago at 3730 North Clark. General admission tickets are $5, reserved seats are $10, upgrades, $20 with VIP tickets $60. Saturday, October 12

Valparaiso, Ind. - Join Giant Paw Prints Rescue for Positive Experience Training School (P.E.T.S.) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Learn the basics of reading dog body language and positive reinforcement. Registration is $40 with advance registration.

Chicago – Stop by the Cobra Lounge at 235 North Ashland from 7 to 11 p.m. for the launch party for the Dames A Dozen Calendar supporting Trio Animal Foundation. Meet the models, enjoy the music by Dave Vacant at 9 and The Freakish Reasons at 9:30. Auction and proceeds benefit TAF. Learn more about the project here.

Sunday, October 13

St. Charles – Stop by the Fox River Harley Davidson from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a multi rescue adoption and fundraising event at Scarecrow Fest. Among the many rescues on hand will be Kora’s Freedom Riders Rescue and It’s a Pittie Rescue.

Downers Grove – Join the Happy Dog Barkery for the 5th Annual Scavenger Hunt through the Historic downtown area. Local businesses participate in this fun event that includes challenges, trivia, treats, raffles and goodie bags. The event run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $8 per dog and benefits - It's A Pittie Rescue, As Good As Gold, Midwest Brew, West Suburban Humane Society, and AaRoooo! Basset Rescue.

Chicago – Marty’s Martini Bar at 1511 West Belmont hosts Martinis for Mutts to support the animals rescued by Famous Fido Adoption and Rescue Alliance.
