There are some events slated for the Fourth of July weekend to help promote pet rescue and adoption. Here's a quick peek.
Red, White and Mew Cat Adoption Event
In honor of Independence weekend, it's time for a little Red, White and Mew at DuPage County Animal Care & Control. For a limited time, DCACC is offering adult cat adoptions for just $7 (and $93 savings) to all qualified adopters. Senior cat adoptions (10 years plus) are $1 all year long. Check out some of the great dogs needing forever homes at New Wave Coffee at 2557 North Milwaukee from Noon until 3 p.m.
Foster2Home will at Collar & Leash at 1435 North Wells for an adoption event from noon until 3 p.m. Stop by to meed their great adoptable pets and to see the wonderful items at Collar & Leash.
Why leave your dog out of the pool party this weekend? A Dog's Day Rescue will hold their Second Annual Pool Party (rescheduled from June 15) from 1 to 4 p.m. at Pet Care Plus at 1328 West Lake Street. Admission is $15 and includes appetizers, donation bar and plenty of fun with your dog.
Join One Tail at a Time for a Dog-friendly Fun Run at Athleta from 6:30 to 7:30 at 3415 North Southport in Chicago. The leisurely three-mile run will promote the rescue's Marathon Mutts program where you may run in a variety of events and raise money for One Tail at a Time.
Things will heat up after the Fourth of July weekend (at least we hope). Throughout the month, The Big Dogs are in Highland Park's central business district and downtown. There will be adoption events and more during the month. Check out this article for updates.
