Low cost spay and neuter services for Waukegan pets

Two Lake County groups are joining forces to help cut down on the pet over population in Waukegan. The Alliance for Humane Action (AHA!) and Waukegan Animals Getting Saved (WAGS) are sponsoring low cost spay, neuter and vaccination services for a limited time to Waukegan residents.

For a limited time, low cost spay and neuter services are available for pets of Waukegan residents.

Services will cover spay or neuter surgeries and a variety of vaccinations and other services needed by pets. In order to qualify, residents must show proof of Waukegan residency. Costs are as follows:

Cats - $25 spay or neuter including rabies and distemper

Dogs - Spay or neuter

  • Under 25 pounds - $15 ($42 if no proof of rabies)
  • 25 to 80 pounds - $30 ($57 if no proof of rabies)
  • Over 80 pounds - $45 ($72 if no proof of rabies)

Other services available with spay/neuter

  • Distemper - $15
  • Urinalysis - $25
  • Fecal - $18
  • Snap Test - $25
  • Ear Clean - $10
  • Nail Trim - $5
  • One year rabies and tag - $27
  • Microchip - $20
  • Pain Pills - $15  (last 5 days)
  • Pain injection - $15 (last 24 hours)

There are extra fees if a pet is pregnant or in heat. Rabies fees will be charged to any animal without proof of rabies vaccination. To schedule an appointment, call 847-960-8689 extension 1. Leave a message and a volunteer will call back to set up an app0intment.
