Gone are the days when you need to sneak your pooch or feline in at many hotels. Pet-friendly travel is on the rise and that includes luxurious pet-friendly accommodations. May is National Pet Month and a national leader in pet-friendly options – the Kimpton Hotels – is offering special pet deals and donations to a local animal shelter.
If you’re headed to Chicago (or are just looking for a weekend getaway), the place to be is the Allegro, Burnham, Monaco and Palomar for special deals and services. Throughout May, these hotels will also be donating 10-percent of your reservation cost to The Anti-Cruelty Society.
As the demand for luxurious pet-friendly accommodations grow, hotels are paying special attention to our furry and feathery friends. Pets get special attention at check-in and there are pet-friendly amenities – where they are able to Sit-Stay-Play. There are also no restrictions on size, weight or breed.
Some of those fetching – and free – goodies include treats, pet beds and food bowls placed in your room during your stay and plastic pick-up bags for your travels around town. There are other services for a fee like walking and pet-sitting services, in-room pet massage, limo service to the local spa (for two people and one pet) and pet water bottles.
Many of the Kimpton Hotels (although not Chicago) have their own four-legged directors of pet relations. All the hotels can direct you to various local spots that welcome pets and also will point you to pet stores and other places offering luxurious pet-friendly accommodations.
You can learn more by checking out the hotels online. The special programs for pet month and the donation to The Anti-Cruelty Society lasts only through the end of May at the four Chicago locations.
