Cat Spa Day: Cats to take over Chicago Party Animals

Cats will finally have their day at Chicago Party Animals this weekend for the first ever cat-friendly bash at Chicago’s premier off-leash doggy party spot. There’s nothing better than a Cat Spa Day for Tree House Humane Society to properly christen CPA with plenty of pampering going on for females and felines.

Did you say cat party? Max is ready for the cat-friendly party at Chicago Party Animals.

Cat-friendly party? Am I joking?

Not in the least.

Up until about six years ago, I would have thought this was a very crazy idea. Throughout the years, I’ve lived with many cats…all of which had no desire to leave their own home...let alone go to a cat party.

Then, Max moved in.

He’s laid back, outgoing and very social…he’s also a certified therapy pet. So, social activities are his forte. I love CPA, but Max was never invited to the party until now. Look out Mr. Big…Max is on the way. Can you tell I'm the least bit excited?

The Cat Spa Day is a great day to unwind after a long week. If your cat is social and harness trained, he or she may partake in the festivities at Cat Spa Day as well. If your cat isn’t up for visiting, sponsor one of Tree House’s adoptable cats for a treatment. For those cats that need a break, there will be kitty condos on hand for their relaxation.

Here’s the deal - $25 gets you in the door ($5 per cat) and gets you one free spa service. You also get a raffle ticket, light bites and desert (did someone say chocolate?) and one Glamor shot from Crimson Cat Studios. There will also be a donation wine and cocktail bar sponsored by Fetch Pet Care in Chicago.

For your kitty, the $5 is a choice between a nail trim and a kitty Brazilian cut (think Brazilian bikini wax with no wax – if you live with long-haired kitties like I do, you’ll love this deal). Cat Spa Day services for the kitties are being donated from Meeow Chicago, the premier cat spa and boarding resort in Chicago.

You may opt for additional services for additional donations to Tree House. There will be massages for people and cats, hair stylists, make up sessions, nail services and more. Pet communicator Hope Black will also be there (book sessions in advance with and Psychic readings with Linda Robinson. Shop the beauty vendors, Pussies on Parade feline art and the Evil Kitty clothing line.

Max volunteers at the nursing home and a library reading program. He's even been to summer camp.

If you’re thinking of including your kitty for the Cat Spa Day, here’s the deal. He or she must be on a harness and leash, must be up-to-date on kitty vaccinations, and be comfortable with new people, environments and other cats. There will be a kitty chill out room in featuring kitty condos and kitty strollers to test out from 1-800 PetMeds.

The Cat Spa Day is also an adoption event with plenty of adoptable cats and kittens on hand too. The event is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at Chicago Party Animals. Check out the details online and you may also purchase tickets in advance as well. Chicago Party Animals is at 1133 West Fulton Market in the West Loop.

Update: Good news for kitties attending the event. Jordan Holwell from Higher Energy Massage Therapy will be on hand offering free massages for all kitties. This should help keep the stress level down for many of the cats at the event.

Did you say free kitty massages? I may just get relaxed after all!

    Raining Cats and Dogs

I am a crazy cat lady and puppy mill warrior that blogs to advocate and educate about pet issues. In American animal controls, millions of pets are abandoned each year and an estimated 4 million die just because there are not enough homes. It truly seems like it’s Raining Cats and Dogs.
