Sometimes I am full of hot talk, I act like I would do some naughty things when we all know I would not! Today I am at it again, posting about quilt labels that would be hilarious to create. You know I never would, right? I just like to pretend. Let's see what funny labels there could be if I wanted to be the grumpy quilter.
#1 is sweet and pink. All you need is to add your name and the date. It would be a perfect world if this was the kind of label you could add to every quilt you gift.
#2 is to the point. You're not quite sure and you figure, better safe than sorry. There are a couple of times I wish I had put this label in a gift quilt. Better to come off a bit abrupt than be mad later.
#3. Why not have a label that spells it out for first time recipients. Best to put it on a small quilt, why waste your time on a big one only to find out it was stored in the trunk of the car to keep the tools from slipping around?
#4. I am giggling as I post this. I have felt a bit like this at times - the guilt quilt or obligatory quilt that you really don't feel like sewing. But you do and a variation of this label is maybe tucked on the inside? The color even shows your reluctance.
#5. OK, I admit it, I am getting downright nasty here. I have a person in mind that I could have done this label for but I never would. They just never got another quilt.
#6. How about a passive aggressive label? Nothing like a quilt with a big old side of guilt! That's OK, this Mom is used to being left alone, ignored, by herself, crying in the dark.
#7. Or perhaps you would prefer a martyr label? Maybe you could remind the child how many hours your labor lasted? No, just stitch the number somewhere on the quilt.
#8. Oh brother, we better end this post now before I get too snarky!
