Review of Go Big Go Bold by Barbara Cain

I know I was influenced to buy this book by my class at Sisters. Heather Jones encouraged us to go big, think big and sew big. I liked it, a lot! I know that my grandchildren will go through several stages of quilts as they age. I don't want to work a year on blocks and quilts, I want to be able to make big fun quilts pretty fast.

2017-07-12-043When I was perusing the merchandise at Undercover Quilts in Seattle this was the first item I snapped up and hugged close. It spoke to me. In fact, it said, "Buy me and make big quilts!"

You can see it there in my loot from this great store. You may have seen this photo already if you read about my fun trip there. It's always good to have a review!

Who am I to argue with a book that is talking to me. Buy it I did and I have flipped through it several times. I dig this book so I am writing a review of Go Big Go Bold by Barbara Cain.

I loved this book. The first time I flipped through it I wanted to make every single quilt in it. yes, every. single. one.

I calmed myself down and read the text, looked at the pictures. I decided there was one I would not make. go-bigProgress, yes?

Barbara Cain gives great directions, measurements and even cutting diagrams. I am not even sure I will follow them to the letter. I just like the way she perks up my mind to new ways of making a quilt.

I also really LOVED the way she gives ideas on how to construct the quilt back. Yes, you read that right, the quilt back. I don't know if I have ever seen that before.

The backs all go with what is happening on the front and are super. Even if you don't construct it just like hers, you have such marvelous food for thought.

Want something new, fast, fun and BIG? Check out this book. Then we can race and see who makes more of them.

Go!

Sew happy!
