I like to know what is going on in the world, I do. But I can't say it generally puts me in a good mood. There are so many controversies, disasters and sad things that happen in this world. I like to balance it by finding quilting and sewing in the news. I am here to share some articles that are pleasant to read with you.
In this circle they find understanding first and foremost. They can talk with others who understand. And then they find hope.

I was fooled when I read the headline but it is Athens, Ohio where there was a quilt show described as BOLD. One of my favorite adjectives!
There was a Nancy Crow curated show there. Oh how I wish I could have gone. The next best thing is to check out the quilt here.
Next let's head over to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Once more there is a fabulous event featuring Sewists - Sharing the Weight. What kind of weight?
But by volunteering, the family can get one for their child for free. It can be very therapeutic for some kids to feel this, like a big hug, as they sleep.
By reading these articles and learning about all the good people in the world, I feel better. I have more energy and hope to leave my sewing/quilting cocoon and return to the real world.
Or maybe I will just stay in my sewing sanctuary!
