It's December 1st and there are many celebrations this month. One way that people celebrate is through song. My husband is a Christmas Carol nut and there are a few Hanukkah songs I know as well. I wish I was as clever as Adam Sandler about making up new songs because I would make one that included quilters. Since I can't create quilting sewing holiday songs maybe I can turn some well known ones into quilting sewing holiday songs. Stay with me, this will be fun.
Quilty Quilty Quilty
(Sung to the tune of Dreidel Song)
I have a little quilt
I made it out of thread
And when it's sewn and ready
I'll put in on my bed
I sewed you with thread
And when it's sewn and ready
We'll put it on our bed.
How about the original to clear your head?
Are you still with me? Can you take one more?
Let me sew
(Sung to the tune of Let it Snow)
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the sewing is so delightful
And since I've no place to go
Let me sew, let me sew, let me sew
Well it doesn't show signs of stopping
And I bought some fabric while shopping
The lights are all aglow
Let me sew, let me sew, let me sew
When I finally call it a night
How I'll want to still perform
The quilt will keep me warm
Oh my eyesight is dying
But sewing I'm still a trying
But as long as I love it so,
Let me sew, let me sew, let me sew
Here's the actual song
Trying to write these fun songs made me Sew happy!
