Creating an age friendly home

We love our condo and want to live here happily and comfortably for at least 20 more years. It has stairs to get up to the second floor and a spiral staircase to get to the sewing room. I am glad, I want to keep the ability to climb stairs and I think people are aware that stairs can be dangerous so they are careful on them. But that's me. You might think that creating your age friendly home would mean no stairs.  So we can leave that up to choice.

We are still in the process of creating an age friendly home. I moved to this condo in my 40's, my Dad is still in a single family home so people obviously differ over what it means. I like having snow removal and yard work done for me, you might love doing them. But other details I find to be more important in making you safe and happy in your home no matter what your age.

Take a look at the changes we've made over the past couple of years as we update and redecorate. What did I miss?

Sew happy!

Is this my only post about stairs? Nope, that spiral staircase has been featured in not just one but two posts.
