Your face is frozen. You've shoveled 17 thousand times. You don't want to hear one more person say, "Cold enough for you?" You've worn your coat so much it feels like an obligatory uniform. However, it's not bothering you as much as the next guy because you have a secret weapon. You are a quilter and so you keep your secret deep inside of you. You're demanding to know? Fine, I will tell you, but just YOU the quilter secret of this winter. Ready? It's perfect weather for sewing. Oh yes, honey it is.
Grey skies which threaten more snow.
Snow covered roofs.
Roads which need to be cleared.
My reaction? Sigh of contentment!
I can stay home, guilt free and sew. No need to get out and take advantage of the "nice weather."
Nope, this is perfect weather for sewing and by golly, I am going to get the most out of it.
I will cut, clip and measure.
I will sew, stitch and bind.
New patterns? Let me at them!
Blocks to be made? Check.
Quilts to start and finish? Check and check.
Heck I may even do some mending. Well, hold on, maybe check.
Icicles. Yep, icicles.
Where's there ice there's melting. Where's there's melting there is sun and warmth. An end to howling winds and below zero temps may well be on our horizon.
I know, I understand, you don't have to tell ME.
It's time to press forward quilters and sew while the sun doesn't shine.
Needles and threads, ready? Get out there my people and take advantage of this perfect weather for quilting.
