Old School Halloween Costumes

I did most of my trick or treating in the 50's and 60's.  My kids did theirs in the 80's and 90's.  That makes me old and the costumes I have worn or sewn, old school.  Really old school.  I can remember reading an Erma Bombeck article where she had two ideas for costumes 1. Hand your kid a magazine and have them go as a magazine salesman 2. Spray your kid green and have her go as a leftover.  I don't think anyone would joke that way today, Halloween costumes are REALLY BIG DEALS!  There are super stores which pop up and catalogs that arrive with the perfect costume to buy.

For a change of pace, look at these old school Halloween costumes with some comments on how to recreate or update.  Who knows, you might get a good idea!

Creating Halloween costumes makes me Sew happy!
