In another lifetime, I visited Shipshewana for the first time and all I really remember from that visit was my oldest daughter making friends with a little Mennonite girl and playing with her. As this is our summer of day trips instead of a vacay, it seemed like time for a return trip. If we were going, I wanted to be sure we would be visiting the Shipshewana Quilt Festival. We spent last Saturday doing all kinds of fun things. It was just a delightful day, too much for one blog post. Today I will show pictures from the Quilt show and later on I will do a post on the winning quilts, one on the "car" quilts and eventually the Quilt Barns. Plus I've done some shopping! First let's take a tour of the show. This show is in the middle of rural Amish country and the quilts reflect this traditional approach to quilting.
