Quilt Gardens in Indiana Amish Country

Quilts make me giddy with happiness.  I love quilts themselves, fabrics to make quilts, quilts on barns and people who quilt.  Imagine my reaction when I read about the Quilt Gardens of northern Indiana.  Now I know we were just there for a Quilt festival, but hey, these are Quilt Gardens in Indiana Amish Country. Seemed like a natural extension to our stay in Indianapolis for the family reunion.

I have to confess that we did not manage to fit in every quilt garden but I think it's doable in a day.  We spent the night in Goshen and went from there to Wakarusa, Nappanee, Middlebury and then back to Shipshewana.  We had to get home so we did not get to photograph the gardens in Bristol or Elkhart.  Next summer?

You can get the same tips we did at their web site, just click here.  For the restaurants, we relied on Yelp like we always do. If you go, let me see your pictures when you return!

It was a fun trip, I love Northern Indiana and being surrounded by Amish culture.  We also found the best Mexican restaurant in Goshen and it was open on a Sunday night!  But I digress, onto the Quilt Gardens in Indiana Amish Country!

Sew happy!
