Easy boy space quilt #2 completed

I am pretty happy that I finished this cute easy boy space quilt for two reasons. One it is pretty darn fun to finish a quilt and two, the baby for whom I am making this quilt is over a week old already.  If you missed the steps bringing me to the glorious end then you can check out that entry right here! Time to bring this sweet baby his new quilt.  Even better I really like the quilt.

bqre1 (2)I love the colors of this quilt but it does seem a bit odd to me that the primary colors are boy colors.  I think I could give this quilt to a baby girl as well.  And to prove my point, if you look closely at the focus fabric you can see one boy astronaut and one girl astronaut.

I like the back fabric also but you really can't see much of the boyqure2quilting.  I did stars and moons again and not to toot my own horn, but I think my moons have gotten better.   This is good because I have one more chance to quilt an astronaut quilt.

Yep, I followed my double your pleasure philosophy again and made a second top while I was making the first one.  Now I have to quilt it.  What am I bqre3 (2)going to do with the second quilts?  Good question, I am not sure yet.  There are a spate of babies being born, maybe that will continue or I may donate them.  For the time being, I am just trying to get them finished.

I have bibs left to make, napkins, more quilts and high chair cushions.  The great thing about my hobby is that I am never done, I always have more things to make and sew and most of them lately are for babies.  In fact, I am pretty sure my daughter would cheerfully chain me to the sewing machine so I could finish all of my granddaughter's projects except that it would make it hard for me to babysit Zara.  I love being needed and waking up each morning raring to get up to the sewing room.

Sew happy!
