Babies change so fast and before you know it, that cute helpless infant will be rolling her eyes at you as she flounces out of the room. (Not that my children ever did that, nope, they were way snottier!) You need to mark, celebrate and archive the baby milestones when they are crawling into your heart permanently. I also think photos are great to look back on during the not so great parenting moments and remember just why you adore this child so much. If you are doing to chronicle these months, might as well do it up right!
Thanks to digital photography and Etsy, Facebook posts abound which mark these important monthly changes. I looked at those and thought, hey, I can do something a bit different which is also functional in the long run. This is how the ongoing Monthly bib project was born. I've posted for Month #1 and #2 so you guessed it, it's time for month # 3. Look back in January for the first post, it includes directions on making the bib in general
It just so happens that she is one month in the first month and so on, but your bibs will begin whenever and you might have your own ideas for that month's theme. Zara is three months old in March so for me, the theme was obvious, St. Patrick's day. I have the 3 on the front and a shamrock on the back. I had scraps of the Irish fabric because I have done lots of Irish sewing before. You might want to have a theme of Kites, or Lions/Lambs or whatever March means to you. (Army boots?) As always, I found my 3 by doing an image search.
I love these bibs but I love them the most on Zara! Now this picture is for sure a keeper, one to look back on when your wee Irish lass celebrates St. Patrick's day in a less cheerful and much more beerful way. Yep, hang onto those first year monthly milestone pictures!
