Thomas Train Engine apron complete, back to Quilts

It is rather enjoyable to make a quick project and they don't get much quicker than a child's apron. That cutie is all finished, I just have to mail it off. I have a fair amount of scraps which I am hanging onto but I can't imagine when I will use them. This is the bane of my existence, when to keep those scraps and when to throw. If you keep the scraps, they become another potential and therefore unfinished project waiting in the wings. Takes a bit of the feeling of accomplishment away!

The grey and yellow heart quilt is progressing nicely. I am not over quilting it, I wanted some of the same sort feel of a hand quilted quilt. I am quilting a heart in the middle of each heart and then one or two in between each heart block. I feel guilty almost because it is going so quickly. Can you see the cute pieced back? It wasn't quite wide enough so I put a yellow strip down the center!

I also started the solid color quilt, I figured out that I need to make 18 blocks which are then made into 6 three block chunks. I cut the 4 yellow fabrics into strips and then into three different sizes squares and rectangles. Next I cut the eight different greys into strips.

All I want to do is sew but I have book club today, I will have to sew more later.

Sew happy!
