The runoffs in Georgia have become the whole megillah

Ecclesiastes 9:17 The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that rules among fools.

With Democrats two Senate seats behind,

Georgia, Georgia, Georgia's on my mind.

There two Democrats

Could unseat the Right Rats

And exterminate McConnell and all of his kind.

  • Oh, what a lovely thought! Thank you!

  • Re the headline: Maybe for Stacey and Bob Abrams, but I don't know if there is an equivalent Baptist book.

We wouldn't be in this position if (a) Georgia let it go to the plurality, or conversely (b) the Dems did as well as the pollsters said, with SC and Ky voting out their incrumbents, but they didn't.

  • It will be interesting to see what happens to the "Right Rats." It will also be interesting to see how much money will be spent on these two senate races. Lindsay Graham has already pledged a million dollars and he will be only one of the smaller out-of-state contributors. Georgia broadcasters, billboard owners, printers and paid campaign workers should make a killing. And think too of the hotels, bars and restaurants catering to the journalists from all over the world who will be camping there. Georgia should be able to pay off its Covid-related deficits just from taxes on these services.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Pritzker: I shooda thunk of that!!! But Willie Wilson would have needed to double his vote.

However, it has been reported that the campaigning senators are from FL and SC, so not much lodging revenue from them.

  • In reply to jack:

I'm not thinking of senators. If all 98 outsiders were to show up it wouldn't do much for Ga. Think of all of the TV reporters, producers, "commentators" and technicians for all of the world's networks. Then toss in the various other media, by whatever name. Then think of all of the drinks that will be bought to interview people with "inside" information, such as secretaries, waitresses, clerks, janitors and other journalists.

Truth comes at a price, and Ga. will undoubtedly tax it.

  • In reply to jnorto:

There was just a report on ABC that $53 million was just thrown into the race. I bet CNN is regretting moving its HQ from Atlanta.

  • Art imitating life?
On America's Funniest Home Videos, there was a blonde little girl whose mother continually asked "did you eat the ice cream?" "No." even though the mother pointed out that she had ice cream all over her face and one of the two Nutty Buddy cones on the counter was missing its ice cream. My reaction "It's the next Kayleigh McGoebels."

The $10,000 winning video was of another little girl in the Temptation Challenge who did not eat the candy, so honesty pays.

  • In reply to jack:

You are being unfair to Kayleigh Macaroni. She promised the White House Press Corps back in April, “I will never lie to you. You have my word on that.”

  • In reply to jnorto:

"Kayleigh Macaroni" Calling her that puts a feather in your hat.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

And also gets Rachael Ray on his case.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

I wish I could take credit for it, but I can't.

  • In reply to jnorto:

But she's got something other than ice cream all over her face, i bet her hair color is genuine, too.

  • In reply to jack:

"Kayleigh McGoebels" ? I love it. I don't think Trump caught the show. He doesn't have a sense of humor, as we all know. But then again he still employs Giuliani.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Rudy reportedly had a complete legal and mental breakdown in a Pa courtroom.Jimmy Kimmel has made fun of his news conference in a landscaping yard, but I don't know if he can make anything of this.

BTW, I thought I had made up the name, but I see it is widely used on reddit and twitter.
