A floral gift from Abby: a poem

the flower is painted chalk by children on pavement, happy background.

Our grand-daughter Abby

Over for a visit,

With colored chalk

Drew flowers on the driveway.

Tulips in the summer.

Red and blue. Yellow and pink.

Memo to Monet:

The rain will soon

Wash them away.

Like life itself.

But memory will keep them fresh.

They will endure

Like love endures.

Flowers in Elysian Fields

Under an endless sun.

  • You have touched my heart just as she has touched yours. How lovely. You have a marvelous granddaughter -- and she has a marvelous granddad.

  • Beautiful post!
