Nevada legalizes

Gambling

Enterprises.*

*Because the Great Depression caused severe economic hardships, the state legislature decided to legalize gambling to generate revenue.  The construction of Boulder (later Hoover) Dam brought thousands of workers to Reno where gambling boomed years before Las Vegas eventually surpassed it.

    Of course. just about every place has legalized gambling for this reason. I predict weed and prostitution soon.

    I don't think so. At least not on this venue. True. But this was 1931. Well before it became the rule.
