After Devin Nunes Sues a Parody Cow, It Surpasses Him on Twitter  [New York Times Headline]

Nunes is suing a site that does parody;

It's all tongue-in-cheek loosely based on some verity.

It wasn't well-known

Now its viewership's grown

While he has been hung out to dry with hilarity.

  • It just goes to show you, there's no such thing as bad publicity. Thanks for the laugh.

  • He's supposedly a congressperson, but I don't see how this kind of suit is not barred by the Communications Decency Act. Not to mention that the cow or the pig is a public figure for purposes of New York Times v. Sullivan (I'm not so sure about the cow) or that parody is protected fair use.

    But maybe Margaret is on the right track that this is for the publicity of filing the suit, and the probable lack of publicity when it is dismissed.

    I did find the concept mooving.

  • In reply to jack:

    Nunes is a total fraud. When the Republicans controlled the House, he was against frivolous lawsuits.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

    Hypocrisy is nothing new. See Rex Huppke's column on "Trump's attacks on McCain and Conway are truly bringing dignity back to the presidency" a couple of days ago, not so much for the obvious point, but the point about what the orange guy's supporters used to say about Obama.
