Roseanne's punishment fit the crime

After tweeting  that virulent  racist remark,

Roseanne said it was just a bad joke.

Which should  tell us quite clearly she's still in the dark

When it comes to respecting black folk.

  • Roseanne did address the later question of what all the cast and crew are supposed to do. Consider the two Beckys, one of which is with surrogate child. My suggestion is to do something similar to Valerie's Family, probably with Tracee Ellis Ross or Leslie Jones in the Sandy Duncan role.

In the meantime Steve Chapman has an explanation why one of his late colleagues keeps posting comments here about Obama.

And, again, Twitter is the source of all evil.

  • Well, I won't have her to ignore anymore.

  • In reply to Margaret H. Laing:

Au contraire. You may not have to ignore the show, but this is being spread all over TV news. Especially after she lied about giving up Twitter and the insult to orangutans took up the cause.

  • In reply to jack:

Ahh, but I ignore Twitter. Case closed.

  • In reply to Margaret H. Laing:

That wasn't my point. Do you ignore all of CBS2, NBCChicago, ABC7 Eyewitness News, 12.5 hours a day of WGN Chciago's Very Own News, FoxChicago, and possibly the PBS News Hour? That's even if you don't mess with cable "news."

  • In reply to jack:

Point taken, Jack. I don't ignore all of broadcast news, but I prefer not to air my preferences.

  • In reply to Margaret H. Laing:

I didn't ask you to. The phrase that you don't ignore all broadcast news answered the question.Thanks.

I don't ignore all broadcast news, either, but to preserve my blood pressure, I know where the "back" button on my remote is. As during the political ad season, it gets a serious workout.

One thing I happened to come across doing so was that there was a Nova on batteries that started off with acknowledging climate change, something that the formerly present jnorto said that the David H. Koch Fund For Science wouldn't allow.

  • Darn, am I prescient. Tribune story including that:

Although Gilbert on Monday mentioned the many who lost their jobs as a result of the cancellation, all hope might not be lost just yet. The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that ABC would be open to a potential reboot focusing on other members of the Conner family — just so long as Barr was not financially or creatively involved with the new iteration in any way.
