"Amid reports that Donald Trump's team is struggling to secure talent for his inauguration, the President-elect has responded by tweeting that he wants "the people," not the stars, to attend."  [foxnews.com]

No A-List entertainer shall

Attend Trump's swearing in.

And not surprisingly to tell

On this he puts a spin.

Instead the people, guy and gal,

Should sashay in like Flynn.

  • Don't worry, he has it covered. The New York Times is reporting that the Radio City Rockettes will perform.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Steve Bannon will give Chef Pelmeni a kick in the teeth.
Honestly, I wonder if this will be like one of the Bush inaugurations, with the streets lined with protesters, at least as the networks showed. I bet this way outdoes that in that regard.
But it doesn't seem to matter, as Chef's heroes pumpkin face and shirtless horsemen gear up for the nuclear apocalypse. Maybe the alt Right can explain why either needs more nuclear weapons. Certainly not to attack their mutual friend, Kim.

In the Sun-Times this morning, Gene Lyons quotes a expatriate Russian journalist who notes the similarity between Trump's and Putin's mendacity. Both want "power over the truth".

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Somehow that didn't make the home page, but the one thing left out, and Lyons briefly mentions in connection with Tillerson is that both like making money by questionable means.

More in point to what I asked Chef курица
"And what exactly do Trump voters think they’re getting out of the Russian connection? Most simply don’t care. They’ve basically chosen party over country. They dislike Americans who vote Democratic far more than the Russian dictator, a distant figure of seemingly no significance to their lives."

  • Speaking of those who say we should respect the next president, it was widely reported, such as here that "Carl Paladino, the former co-chair of President-elect Donald Trump's New York campaign .. told a Buffalo arts publication that his wishes for 2017 included President Barack Obama dying of mad cow disease and his wife, first lady Michelle Obama, 'return to being a male,' " among other epithets.

Yet, Chef Vatrushka, not content with his candidate's victory, wants to muzzle all dissent. Why else is he complaining about most everyone else on Chicago Now in exactly the same redundant terms?

  • Madcow? Wasn't he on the radio once?

BTW, let me wish you, Jack, a very Happy Hanukkah? Doesn't the backstory of it have another Syrian dictator?

And thanks for all your wise and witty comments throughout the year.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Paragraph 2: Yes, although some indication that he was a Greek or Greek puppet, although this one probably is a Russian or Iranian one. Too bad that unlike the Maccabees, those in Aleppo didn't get a victory.

    And have a Merry Christmas.
