Has Trump met his match in the Pope?

Such a fight is a slippery slope.

Will his vanity tumble

In a Vatican rumble

That will end any president hope?

  • Oh, heavens! (No, I won't ask pardon for the pun.)

  • I can't think of a better way for Mr. Orange Face to prove that he has or is a raging rectum.

But it gets back to what I said about 8 months ago--how does he get a winning coalition by offending most Hispanics, most women, and now most Catholics, and some of the Jews?

Even if, as Roe Conn indicated, the Pope was making a political statement, I suppose that it is up to the Pope to say who is Christian, as it is for most any other preacher. Ask the administration at Wheaton College.

Finally, having apparently embraced Caribou Barbie's "He'll kick ISIS's a--" in this statement, OF apparently forgot his prior "let Putin do it" plan. Ash Carter said the other night that Russia was lying about fighting ISIS, but I'm sure Mr. Never Wrong was not listening to something from the Obama Administration.

  • Can you imagine taking on the Pope? Can he finally just go away? (Trump, not the Pope.)

  • "Abortion is not the lesser of two evils. It is a crime. It is to throw someone out in order to save another. That’s what the Mafia does. It is a crime, an absolute evil,”
-Pope Francis on the Zika virus outbreak, today Feb. 18th

Do you sensitive souls also agree with the Pope on this statement? How many 'absolute evil women' in the world did the Pope offend with this nugget?

  • In reply to 4zen:

As I have said before, if someone doesn't agree with the Pope's teachings, there was the Reformation.

However, he didn't say how he would wipe out the beotches after he finished off ISIS, nor lie about what the current administration is doing about the latter problem.

I also recall you posting about how I wasn't supposed to post something about Christianity on Aquinas Wired (it was in the context of inconsistencies in the New Testament) . At least I'm not a hypocrite about that.

  • In reply to 4zen:

Trump agrees with the Pope on this issue. I don't.

  • No one answered the question if they agreed with the Pope on his abortion statement...just more phony partisan outrage about the idea of a country controlling the legal ebb and flow of its border...feel free to remove your hands from your agape mouths...

  • In reply to 4zen:

I gave my response in my first sentence, try reading it again.

Now, you explain why Mr. Orange Face started the tirade by saying "what did the Pope say about me? If it was good, I agree. If it wasn't, Oh,, that's disgraceful."

It isn't partisan outrage...it is a disgraceful, ego consumed disrespectful r.r. who somehow thinks he is qualified to be President.

And you haven't answered any of the questions posed to the supporters of OF, so don't expect reciprocity.

  • In reply to 4zen:

Canto is singing the wrong song. Pope Francis, a man of no mean intellect, was not speaking literally. Trump happens to be impervious to linguistic nuance.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Speaking of nuance, Vatican spokesperson said it wasn't personal, Trump said someone whispered something wrong in his ear (S-T version), and I guess we can forget the whole thing until the next inexplicable outburst of pure bombast.

It also appears that the remaining Republican candidates have thrown Art. VI of the Constiution ("but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States") out the window, but that's another subject.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Trump is not impervious to linguistic nuance, it's his greatest weakness. What saves him is the fact he's tapped into a part of the country that has been ignored, lied to and vilified. The more the media vilifies him, the more it confirms their perception.

It would be nice to think the Pope wasn't speaking literally, we know the few people who run our entire mainstream media wanted it presented literally. Cancelled my subscription to the WSJ yesterday. Maybe the Pope could weigh in on Rupert Murdoch's brand of evil.

  • In reply to 4zen:

Apparently that part of the country doesn't mind that O.F. lies to them and that CNN is still exploiting O.F. for its own purposes.

Since the Pope was apparently answering a question, why don't you ask His Holiness? However, since the Vatican says it does not respond with regard to particular persons, you would have to define what the particular evil is. While most cry about the left wing media, O.F. has his current feud with the right wing media. That seems strange, but maybe you can define the issue. Maybe the Catholic Church has a position on blood coming out of Megyn Kelly's whatever once a month.

  • In reply to jack:

    'That seems strange'...oh brother.

  • In reply to 4zen:

    "oh brother"

Apparently you can't define what O.F has against the right wing media, other than it isn't his lapdog. Of course, he has no use for NBC and the Hispanic media, but the latter is explainable (they cancelled the universe's most spectacular beauty contest, which the O.F. was able to sell for the most money ever to Ari Emanuel and his backers).
