Leo G. Carroll: The Doyen of Character Actors

Born today was Leo G. Carroll.
Anyone up on old Hollywood fare'll
Remember his agent in "North by Northwest".
But in "Spellbound" with Peck I remember him best

  • Well- done! Thank you.

Thank you for reminding me about the Man from U.N.C.L.E., too.

Why no post on Thursday? I was becoming concerned...

  • In reply to Weather Girl:

WG, thanks for your kind words.
I did post on Thursday; it was Tito Gobbi's birthday/ His centennial. For some mysterious reason the post was shown as having been published last Monday. My goal is to do a full year of these natal verses. So I have a good many yet to create. Thanks for being a faithful reader.

  • Wonder why that happened. Thanks for pointing it out....What a fine tribute to Tito Gobbi.

Did you know it's also Picasso's birthday today?

  • In reply to Weather Girl:

Yes I did, WG. It was a tough call whom to pick. Speaking of Picasso, did you see him in "Midnight in Paris"?

  • Well, If you had to choose, I'm glad you picked Leo G. Carroll-- he's the less-obvious choice, and more interesting because of that....

I haven't seen "Midnight in Paris"--but reading about it just now, it sounds good--Paris in the 20's and all...what a cast of characters!
