Born today was Lucy Hayes,

The wife of Rutherford B.

She wouldn't serve liquor in White House soirees;

It was lemonade, coffee, or tea.

  • So I take it Samuel Clemens didn't abstain from wolfing down an "adult beverage." He could have been a politician with that kind of doubletalk.
