  • Apparently the pink Cadillacs motivated the "sales associates."

  • In reply to jack:

My first car was a pink '57 Chevy. I bought it over ten years later just to drive my future wife to the company Xmas party. The color worked for me, in a sense.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

The pink (more properly coral) 57 Chevy was classic, followed only by the robin's egg blue one.

On the other hand, the pink or lavender Cadillac usually had another connotation, as I indicated in this "Drive ... He Said."

BTW, about 1960, the neighbor across the street had a 57 coral Chevy that was a good car. Maybe as a result of that, my father bought a 58 Chevy, which was the worst oil burning piece of junk ever. On the other hand, after a while, I didn't see a 57 that didn't have its front shield broken.

  • In reply to jack:

Funny you should mention the broken windshield, same thing happened to my 57 Chevy.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Sorry if i sent you in the wrong direction. I was referring to the shield with the blue "bow tie" mounted on the rib between the two portions of the grille.
