Aesthetics Delayed: My Amaryllis

Resting near my window sill is
The yuletide flower, amaryllis.

But  now  its petals open red.
It may have missed the scheduled date,
But such a beauty's worth the wait.

So does Orthodox Christmas, reportedly today.

However, the current pictures of Bridgitte Bardot (on her way to Russia, where she might fit in) negates your premise (and the cited one was 5 or 6 years ago).
