Newt Gingrich wants the kids on dole
To scrub the schoolhouse toilet bowl.
And as they learn their ABC's
To wax the floors upon their knees.
Why waste, he says, their time on books
When cafeterias need cooks.
Newt would assign scholastic brooms
To sweep the litter from the rooms.
The poor kids naturally lack moxie
In his right-wing orthodoxy.
Let them work and earn their keep
For child labor does come cheap.
