Chicago Scene Presents: The Wandering Muse

It’s no shocker that when you walk into any River North establishment that the source of music is usually a one man band behind a computer. For those of us who love the concept of live music and the vibe of the River North area alike, that can be a little disappointing. Lucky for us, Chicago Scene has teamed up with Fort Knox Studios and Vicarious Venues to bring back the authenticity of live music in an area where it lacks, for a fabulous concert series known as The Wandering Muse.

The Wandering Muse concert series showcases local bands that actually kick ass and take names around various venues in Chicago. The three talented bands known as Halfmoon Mad, Draft Week and Cellrs have been chosen to perform after enduring an audition process packed with local top talent. The premier event kicks off at The Godfrey Hotel’s Chicago I|O Urban Roofscape on March 26, 2014 at 7pm. (Note: no one was actually harmed in the ass kicking these bands have done; they're just awesome.)

I had the opportunity check out all the chosen bands in action, and there is no doubt that they are all worthy of experiencing. There is just an aspect within live performance that possesses such intimacy and organic emotion; something seemingly becoming a rarity in today's nightlife. With the combination of good music, good people, and good fun there really isn't an excuse to not check this upcoming show out.

In the event that you do enjoy live music AND djs, then also don't forget to hit Cuvée post concert for the official after party. The electronic beats are sure to be in full effect, allowing you to fist pump the night away.
