Hello! I'm back with another Beauty Edition, and this week we'll discuss the always problematic and nasty - blackheads.
The definition: A plug of sebum in a hair follicle, darkened by oxidation.
Blackheads typically lay on the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead near the eyebrows. You could have the most clear and fabulous skin and still have a case of darkened pores. I have tried and tested a few different ways to remove these little pests and have found these most effective:
Exfoliating is key in removing dead skin cells on the face. It keeps pores clean, and extracts dirt and build up in the case that the pores are clogged. The best exfoliator that I've been rocking lately is called, ZAPZYT. It was about $4 from the drugstore and literally the best I've used as of late. I have tried drugstore and high end and I love this dirt cheap item!
2. Elmer's Glue
Elmer's Glue is no longer just a craft adhesive or a kindergarten snack. The best method I've tried, hands down. Simply rub a thin layer over the area and let it dry for 10+ minutes. Remove as you would a regular pore strip and see the blackheads removed! It's gross and utterly satisfying.
3. Egg Yolk Mask
Simply take an egg, and separate the yolk. Rub the yolk on your face and let it sit until it dries for 15+ minutes. Then wash off. This works well on the entire face and provides moisture. This has the same effect as the glue method and acts as a skin reviver as well.
4. Pore Strips
There are different brands of pore strips and I feel they work equally as decent. Biore has been a reputable brand and runs for about $8 at drugstores. Wet the strip and area and place the strip on it. Let it harden (it will feel like paper mache when it's dry) and then peel away. This is also gross and satisfying as well.
If you're annoyed with those little blackheads on your face, than don't rule out these methods. Try them out and good luck in your skin clearing adventure!
