Hockey News!!!! The Hawks pick up another 3rd pairing D-Man with Rozsival signing.
I am kind of shocked to add to the news spreading today about the Rozsival signing. Who would have thought that something other than the noise between owners and players was happening behind the scenes? Michal Rozsival was signed by the Hawks to a 1 year deal at a ballpark of 2 mil. An ex... Read more »

Parise and Suter ink contracts in Minnesota. Where will the Blackhawks look next?
Word on the street is that free agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter have signed in Minnesota for an ungodly amount of money and for an awfully long time. And just like that, the Wild have become feared competitors for next years season, and have one of the highest payrolls in the league. Given that... Read more »

The first day of UFA signings reveals nothing too exciting.

The first day of UFA signings reveals nothing too exciting.
The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Sheldon Brookbank to a 2 year deal. The dollar amount has yet to be clearly announced, but it sounds to be in the ballpark of 1.5 – 2 mil a year. Leaving many to have seen exactly what they expected, not much happened in SB’s corner, or did it? The... Read more »

Oduya signing speaks louder than his cap hit.
I have been sitting on this recent development to see what others were saying, and hopefully, to find the silver lining in it all. You might be doing a double take after noticing that price-tag, I sure did until remembering just what Sharp... Read more »

Player Eval: Michael Frolik and we say goodbye to Chris Campoli during the process.
Michael Frolik was signed to a 3 year deal totaling 7 million dollars in recent days. His signing was coupled with another signing of a lesser known player, D-man Sami Lepisto. The two of these deals seemed to spell the end of Chris Campoli in a Hawk’s uniform, and it turns out they did. The... Read more »

Player Eval #2: Nick Leddy and the Hawks sign Salak.

The Hawks signed goaltender Alexander Salak, who was part of the Frolik deal with Florida to a 2 year contract. They also signed Byron Froese and David Gilbert to 3 year entry level contracts. Salak, who is 24 made 2 appearances in the NHL last year and made 34 saves on 40 shots. Looks like... Read more »

Player Eval #1: Corey Crawford gets his contract.

It feels good to have a reason to talk about the Blackhawks. Possibly learning from the mistakes of last off-season and the shenanigans of years prior, SB and company moved quickly to secure Crawford to a contract causing him to be the future of the Chicago net for a few years to come. The deal... Read more »
