-By Warner Todd Huston Last year 1,000 high schools competed to win the chance to have President Obama attend their graduation exercises. But this year, the White House is scrambling to understand why only 68 schools have applied for the honor. The Political Hotsheet blog at CBSNews tells us that internal memos are flummoxed as... -By Warner Todd Huston So, not only has Obama turned a deaf ear to the dozens getting killed in Libya by their own mad dictator, but when the White House Twitter feed finally did decide to discuss the country it spelled the name of the place incorrectly. -By Warner Todd Huston Last week President Obama appointed the CEO of General Electric, Jeffery Immelt, to head up his Economic Advisory Board. This is, as Freedomworks' Tabitha Hale wrote, "an obvious rent seeking arrangement between Big Government and Big Business."
This could not have been a more clear product of a crony corporatist relationship, and it is one that has no place in government that professes to value the free market. So now, we fight it. Matt Kibbe of FreedomWorks sums it up well: "It's time to break up the unethical romance between government and big business. -By Warner Todd Huston Despite that President Obama made Cap and Trade and other green policy plans a focal point of his early days in office — not to mention his campaign for president — the White House has quietly scrubbed from its official website many of Obama’s promises and green initiatives. I guess the... Read more »
-By Warner Todd Huston With the too-long-in-coming departure of the despicable Helen Thomas from the White House press room, newsies have been waiting with bated breath to find out who would get the seat she formerly wasted there. Fox News made its bid, of course, but many assumed that it would never happen. In fact,... Read more »
-By Warner Todd Huston In January one of the early “successes” of the White House was the Lilly Ledbetter Act, legislation that was supposed to insure equal pay “for everybody.” Apparently, as in all Obama’s pronouncements, the outcome of Obama’s drive for “fairness” is rarely as advertised. In this case, some people are more equal... Read more »
